CAROL LIEW

Project Manager

Carol has 10 years of experience managing projects across complex work streams in the humanitarian and development sector. Most recently, she was Head of International Programmes at Mercy Relief - Singapore's leading independent disaster relief agency, overseeing a multi-million portfolio that spanned across 8 countries in Asia. She has led major relief operations including the Bangladesh Refugee Crisis 2017; Nepal Earthquake 2015 and Typhoon Haiyan 2013.

A strong advocate for driving impact through local and community-led development, Carol regularly provides advice and training to many NGOs and communities in the region on participatory approaches to programme development and impact management.

Carol is particularly passionate about youth and women's empowerment. Driven by her belief that youth can be a powerful and creative force for social change, she has lectured for the Humanitarian Affairs Diploma-Plus Programme at the Singapore Polytechnic and has facilitated overseas humanitarian missions for over 500 youths. Carol also brings sector expertise in WASH, livelihoods, climate change adaptation and disaster resilience and risk reduction.

Carol holds a BSc (Hons) in Psychology from the National University of Singapore and is PMD Pro (Project Management for Development Professionals) certified.
